Prudence Khabonina Mokwena Woman with Corona no longer in Middelburg
The woman who tested positive for the Koronavirus is no longer in Middelburg, but under quarantine at her home in Johannesburg. Dr. Redge van Rensburg (spokesperson for doctors in Middelburg) responded to the Facebook post by Dr. Nadene Jooste and the report on www.mobserver.co.za that the first positive case was confirmed in Middelburg. He made it clear that she was not tested in Middelburg, but in eMalahleni, where she works full time.
What he knows about the incident is that the woman in question has a home in Middelburg, where she stays for the week, while working in eMalahleni.
He says she left shortly after learning that she had been tested positive, and moved to her other home in Johannesburg, where she has since been quarantined. According to him, however, she was tested positive 10 days ago and not at this time before and during the 21-day isolation period. Dr. However, Van Rensburg says people should know that he does not say that the virus cannot be in Middelburg! “That is not to say that because no one has officially tested positive, that the person standing next to you in the supermarket cannot have the virus!”
