MIDDELBURG — Residents can now find several important Steve Tshwete Local Municipality services and documents through one official online portal, making it easier to handle routine municipal matters without first visiting the civic centre.
The municipality’s website brings together links for paying municipal accounts, reporting service-delivery problems, applying for services and tracking requests. Residents can also access tariff schedules, property valuation information, public notices, council agendas and minutes, municipal finance documents, tenders, quotations and vacancies.
How residents can report problems
For service queries and faults, the municipality lists its customer-care number as 013 243 1806. A WhatsApp customer-care line is also available on 064 915 3362. Residents who report a problem online should keep any reference number they receive so that they can follow up or track the request later.
Before making a payment or sharing personal information, residents should check that they are using the official municipal website at stlm.gov.za. Links received through unofficial messages should be treated with caution.
The portal also gives local businesses and job seekers a central place to check current municipal opportunities. Tender and quotation notices, vacancies and the municipality’s SMME support portal are grouped under the opportunities section.
Residents who prefer in-person assistance can visit the municipal offices at the corner of Walter Sisulu Street and Wanderers Avenue in Middelburg. The main municipal contact number is 013 249 7000.
